Project: Digital Prayers and Poojas
Purpose:
Many patshala students across the country that are required to learn prayers and poojas but often can not because their parents do not always know them either. These youth and parents would benefit from an online site that allows them to learn this material at any time and would also greatly help them with the pronunciation and methods in which to practice these.A secondary issue with these rituals is that a common trend appears to be that youth are losing interest because they often never learn the meaning and significance of what they are doing. This site would place a strong emphasis on the English translations and meaning of these rituals that are not always taught or understood.
Description:
A website will be created on the YJA education page to allow our community the ability to post poojas and prayers online. Much of this material already existed and simply needs to be located, formatted and posted online. Once completed YJA will notify our community and all temples of this resource.

How you can help
1. If you have web programming experience or are willing to learn, you can join the YJA web-team and help construct and maintain the website that will be hosting this project.
2. If a prayer or pooja that we do not have documented is being performed at your temple, you can volunteer to record it for us. If you know of recordings that have already been done, you can help us locate them and make them available to our entire community.
3. If you are very familiar with any of the prayers or poojas, you can help us translate the literal and symbolic meaning into English.
