Young Jains of America is proud to present the 2020 Southeast Regional Retreat at in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. Come enjoy a weekend with your fellow Jains and grow mentally, spiritually, and socially! The retreat will be taking place from Friday, March 27th, to Sunday, March 29th.


You must be between 14-29 years old to attend this retreat. (A photo ID will be required for check-in).



Registration fees begin at $85 for Phase 1. Your registration fee includes accommodations, meals and access to all events for the 3-day event. Also included is a region t-shirt! Please note that additional travel expenses will not be refunded.

Unsubsidized Registration

To provide each attendee with accommodations, meals, and the opportunity to attend sessions and participate in activities, the actual total cost per person is well over the registration cost. YJA works very hard in fundraising during the year to help subsidize each attendee's cost of attendance. We would greatly appreciate it if you could help YJA by choosing the Unsubsidized pricing option at the time of payment. This would help us raise the money we need to ensure YJA remains affordable for as many potential attendees as possible.


Financial Assistance

For those that would like to attend but are in need of financial assistance, please download this Financial Assistance Form, fill it out, and email it to the YJA Co-Chairs at [email protected] Financial assistance is limited and will be awarded on a first-come first-serve basis until our allocation of funds is exhausted.



Groups will be carpooling from major cities in the Southeast Region to make the drive to Pigeon Forge, TN. For information, contact the Local Representatives for the respective city if carpooling is available, or contact Mahin Bhavsar at [email protected] to be put in touch with a carpooling group.


Liability Policy

Every attendee must arrive at the retreat with a signed liability form. You can also send it beforehand to [email protected] If a retreat attendee does not have a signed liability form, they will not be able to participate in retreat activities. For YJA members between the ages of 14 and 17, the liability form can be found here. For YJA members between the ages of 18 and 29, you will sign the liability form during registration.


Safety Policy

This is the Southeast Retreat. The retreat is an intimate environment where attendees will have an opportunity to learn about Jain values, meet old friends, and make new ones. YJA wants to ensure that everyone has a great time.

There are a few basic but important ground rules that all attendees are expected to follow:

  1. Please be respectful of other attendees in your speech and actions. Any inappropriate comments or language will not be tolerated.

  2. There is a strict policy against alcohol consumption.

  3. Those who are reported to have acted inappropriately or to have significantly impacted others’ retreat experiences in a negative way will be subject to consequences at the discretion of the Regional Coordinator and other members of YJA Board present at the retreat.

  4. All attendees will read and sign the appropriate liability form before the start of the retreat.

How long are we going to be in sessions?

Most sessions will be between 60 and 90 minutes long. There will be ample time in between sessions for snacks and restroom breaks. 

What if I have to leave during the retreat?

To ensure attendee safety, we ask everyone to remain on the premises for the duration of the retreat unless authorized to do so by the YJA Executive Board. Please contact [email protected] with any questions.

What kind of clothes do I need to bring?

Since it can get chilly in the woods, please be sure to bring both short and long sleeve shirts. Layers work best, as it gets warm in the afternoons. Whether you wear long pants or shorts, the choice is up to you -- as long as you're comfortable hiking in it, we're with you. Remember to pack comfortable shoes, considering we'll be spending a lot of time outdoors. Other accessories, such as hats or sunglasses, are encouraged. And, of course, make sure all dress is YJA appropriate, as those who are considered out of dress code will be asked to change.

What does the registration cost cover?

The registration cost includes accommodations, food, educational materials, and souvenirs. Additional transportation is not included.

Will I need to bring extra spending money?

You won't be needing any money at the retreat itself. However, it is recommended to bring some cash for gas or emergencies.

Will there be any doctors on site?

There will not be any doctors on site, but safety is a priority and basic first aid supplies will be available. If anything goes wrong, medical attention is only a few minutes away.


Cancellation Policy

If we receive your cancellation while the registration period for the retreat is still open (until March 19th), you will receive a 50% refund of the registration fee.

After March 19th, refunds will only be granted on a case-by-case basis under extremely extenuating circumstances. If you wish to cancel your registration or have questions about the retreat, please email [email protected]
