Mid-West! You might remember that we had a retreat in February, and that this retreat was fantastic. You might also remember being really sad when the retreat was over, because it meant you had to say goodbye to an amazing weekend of memories. Well, enough of you remembered all this that we decided to host a second retreat this year! Young Jains of America presents the YJA Summerfest - Mid-West Retreat #2 - a weekend of exploring the connection between the mind, body, and soul, in Sandusky, Ohio. The retreat will be taking place from Saturday, July 29th through Sunday, July 30th, 2017.
You must be between 14-29 years old at the start of the retreat to attend (A photo ID will be required for check-in).
Your registration fee includes accommodations and meals for the 2 day event, as well as your early access ticket to Cedar Point amusement park.
Registration fees begin at $85 for Phase 1, $95 for Phase 2, and $100 for unsubsidized. All registration phases end at 11:59 PM EST on the date listed. Registration closes on 7/20 at 11:59 PM EST.
|6/27 - 7/9||Phase 1||$85|
|7/10 - 7/20||Phase 2||$95|
|6/27 - 7/20||Unsubsidized||$100|
To provide each attendee with hotel accommodations, meals, and the opportunity to attend sessions and social events, the actual total cost per person is well over the registration cost. YJA works very hard in fundraising during the year to help subsidize each attendee's cost of attendance. We would greatly appreciate it if you could help YJA by choosing the "Unsubsidized" pricing option at the time of payment. This would help us raise the money we need to ensure YJA remains affordable for as many potential attendees as possible.
For those that would like to attend but are in need of financial assistance, please download this Financial Assistance Form, fill it out, and email it to the YJA Co-Chairs at email@example.com. Financial assistance is limited and will be awarded on a first-come first-served basis until our allocation is exhausted.
Transportation to this location will not be provided - however, carpools may be organized if there is enough interest! Please email Anand Shah at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any questions.
This is the Mid-West Region Summerfest Retreat. The retreat is an intimate environment where attendees will have an opportunity to learn about Jain values, meet old friends, and meet new ones. YJA wants to ensure that everyone has a great time.
There are a few basic but important ground rules that all attendees are expected to follow:
- Please be respectful of other attendees in your speech and actions. Any inappropriate comments or language twill not be tolerated.
- There is a strict policy against alcohol consumption.
- Those who are reported to have acted inappropriately or to have significantly impacted others' retreat experiences in a negative way will be subject to consequences at the discretion of the Regional Coordinator and other members of YJA Board present at the retreat.
- All attendees will read and sign the appropriate liability form before the start of the retreat.
We want to state the boundaries of the event clearly to ensure that everyone learns, grows, is respected, and has fun! If you have any questions, don't hesitate to email email@example.com.
Most sessions will be between 60 and 90 minutes long. There will be ample time in between sessions for a snack and restroom breaks.
To ensure attendee safety, we ask everyone to remain on the premises for the duration of the retreat unless authorized to do so by the YJA Executive Board. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions.
Since it is July, it will be hot! Wear something comfortable for the park day (Sunday) and bring sunscreen. Otherwise, it’s up to you, but just remember to keep your clothes appropriate for a YJA retreat.
The registration cost includes lodging, food, educational materials, and park admission. The cost does not cover transportation.
You won't be needing any money at the retreat itself, but we recommend bringing extra money for gas, and a small amount of spending cash for food as you are traveling to and from retreat. In addition, you will be provided sack lunches for Sunday afternoon, but bring money if you wish to buy additional food/beverages at the park.
There will not be any doctors on site, but safety is a priority and basic first aid supplies will be available. If anything goes wrong, medical attention is only a few minutes away.
If we receive your cancellation while the registration period for the retreat is still open (until July 20th, 2017), you will receive a 50% refund of the registration fee. After July 20th, refunds will only be granted on a case-by-case basis under extremely extenuating circumstances. If you wish to cancel your registration or have questions about the retreat, please email email@example.com.
